Frequently asked questions
Can we put a logo on the toy?
Yes. An embroidered logo on the chest or on a shirt is the most common choice; embroidery holds up better than printing on a high-pile fabric. Very fine detail in a logo becomes difficult in embroidery, so at the design stage we look at whether a simplified version works better.
How long does the whole process take, from design to delivery?
That depends on the design, the quantity and the packaging, so we would rather not quote a fixed number of weeks that turns out to be wrong. The process always has three parts: the design with your approval on a physical sample, production, and transport.
If you have a fixed date, give it to us with your request. We will work backwards from that day and tell you honestly whether it is achievable.
Can Plutoys help with the design and the packaging?
Yes. One clear front view is enough to begin, and a logo or a rough sketch also works. We translate it into pattern pieces and help you think through pose, proportions and detailing.
If you have nothing at all yet, we develop the character from a blank page. Packaging is part of it too: loose, individually bagged, with a hangtag or in sets, whichever your situation calls for.
We only want a hundred. Is that possible?
Yes, a hundred works: that is our lower limit for a toy of 20 to 25 cm. The development costs of a bespoke toy, such as the pattern, the sample and the testing, are the same whatever the quantity. That makes the unit price higher on a small run than on a large one.
