Frequently asked questions
Can Plutoys put an EAN barcode on the hangtag?
Yes, a barcode on the hangtag or label is possible. The code itself comes from you, because it belongs to your article rather than to the toy.
Send it with your request, along with the packaging type you want, and we will build it into the sample.
What is the minimum order for retail plush toys?
We would rather not quote a fixed minimum that turns out differently per project. It depends on the model, the fabric and the packaging, and in retail the one-off costs for pattern, sample and testing are spread across the whole run.
Tell us the quantity you have in mind, or name two. We will price both so you can see where the tipping point lies.
How long does the whole process take, from design to delivery?
That depends on the design, the quantity and the packaging, so we would rather not quote a fixed number of weeks that turns out to be wrong. The process always has three parts: the design with your approval on a physical sample, production, and transport.
If you have a fixed date, give it to us with your request. We will work backwards from that day and tell you honestly whether it is achievable.
Can Plutoys help with the design and the packaging?
Yes. One clear front view is enough to begin, and a logo or a rough sketch also works. We translate it into pattern pieces and help you think through pose, proportions and detailing.
If you have nothing at all yet, we develop the character from a blank page. Packaging is part of it too: loose, individually bagged, with a hangtag or in sets, whichever your situation calls for.
Are the toys safe for young children?
Yes. All toys are manufactured in line with current European directives and tested to EN71-1, EN71-2 and EN71-3, with CE marking. That is the condition for selling within the European market.
If you sell to the youngest age group, that also calls for design choices: embroidered eyes rather than attached parts, and no loose accessories. Tell us at the request stage and it runs through from the first sketch.
